I would like to think all my life I have been exposed to entrepreneurship. My great grandparents opened up their own barbershop business when they came to America over 70 years ago escaping World War Two. A lot of my friend’s parents owned their own business and would always talk about being an entrepreneur to me. My parents have also dabbled in entrepreneurship. Mostly all of the entrepreneurs I have met have instilled values of entrepreneurship that have resonated with me ever since I could remember.
The idea of taking on risk and not working a 9-5 job and being my own boss always excited me. This is what excited me about taking this class. I hope this class will help me think and understand entrepreneurship better. I can already tell even after the bug list assignment this class has helped the way I think about problems and show how entrepreneurs think. The attached picture below is my favorite entrepreneur that I look up to the most Elon Musk. My favorite part of the picture shows the part of entrepreneurship people like to overlook, which is the hard work and dedication it takes to be successful. Elon Musk has been on record working over 80-100 hours a week.
Hey Zachary, I really relate to your own personal story of how people in your family and peope super close to your family helped expose you to entrepreneurship. My dad is an entrepreneur himself and after reading your post it helped me see that other people can have similar life situations and I think that's super cool. Also, your first line in the second paragraph when you said that not working a 9-5 job and being your own boss excited you really resonated with me. Finally I love that your inspiration is Elon Musk because it is also someone I look up to due to his incredible work ethic.

ReplyDeleteIt must be inspiring to have family and friend's family that have taken on major entrepreneurship roles. I can tell you value hard work and what can come from it. Entrepreneurs are strategic thinkers, constantly finding new opportunities. I think Elon Musk is a great person to follow on his major journey. Entrepreneurship definitely bring out a different mindset so I’m also excited to be a part of this class.

I think that a lot of us want to be in charge and fully in control of our lives and being your own boss allows you to have that control.
